High School Basketball results from the Western Cape

The high school basketball in Western Cape (Greater Cape Town) just ended with the end of the 1st term. The league ran from January to March 2008. The following age groups participated: u14 boys and girls, u/16 boys and girls and u/19 boys and girls. It was a great school basketball season and all boys matches were played on a Wednesday while the girls played on a Tuesday.

Results

U/14 girls – Montevideo beat Linge in the final.
U/14 boys- Linge beat SACS in the final.

U/16 girls  – Heideveld Secondary School beat Linge in the final. This was a very close encounter but Heideveld went undefeated in this season by beating Linge 42 – 38 in the final.
U/16 boys- Heideveld Secondary School beat Reddam House High School by 20 points in the final.

U/19 girls –  Pinelands high school ended on top of the log.(League format)
U/19 boys – Defending Champions Heideveld Secondary School defeated Bishops College in a close encounter final match. The teams were head to head from the start to the finish. Final score was 56-39. Heideveld undefeated the entire season, defended their title succesfully.

Western Cape schools basketball are now preparing the u/17 Western Cape provincial school basketball team (Boys and Girls) to compete in the All  Ages Games  to be held in Pretoria.

Next basketball season starts in the 4th term.
