Darren spent many years playing basketball in Pretoria, searching out every possible way to gain extra inches on his vertical in order to disprove the theory that white men can't jump. After being distracted by the corporate world for several years, Darren returned to the game he loves to contribute in some way to its' future. Darren firmly believes we will see basketball in its rightful place as one of the top sports in South Africa, and that one of the keys to doing so is seeing information about the game made easily accessible to everyone. This is why he is now part of the MyBasketball team.

  1. Looks like a Wits shoot around this year. Where is everybody else? Or is it limited to Wits team and a few close friends?

After reading the comment by Sibo, why weren’t Tuks ladies invited if they were the defending champs?

This could be such a good tournament to remenber Ashraf by but the organiser have missed a good opportunity. Sad really

Sorry to say this, But it seems as if ballers have one minute concentration spans. When something new comes up we dump the old like it never existed, this seems to be the case with the Tourney.

Where is our sense of tradition!

Personally, I have been attending the Tourney and I am disappointed that I did not get forewarning about this year’s edition.

    Regardless, ngizabe ngidaar!

  3. what Wits did is wrong..i mean we could have had a bball festival for the whole weekend there..imagine if we had atleast 16 teams there competing for the whole weekend..

now its more like a private club where you invite members only..shame on Wits..or maybe they hoping to win it at last..who knows..

  4. did anyone attend the tournament..i here that people where kept waiting for Wits Alumni to rock up for the finals..

    any update please..
