The SAfm interview – mybasketball.co.za
September 2, 2008 in FanZone, News
MyBasketball was interviewed recently on SAfm regarding the growth and state of basketball in South Africa. Victor and Nthabiseng represented MyBasketball and discussed a number of aspects affecting the game, as well as how we hope MyBasketball can play a part.
The interview was split into two segments. You can listen to the interview here (time of audio clip in brackets):
Part 1 of the interview (4:32)
Part 2 of the interview (5:10)
Our sincere thanks to SAfm for allowing us the opportunity to appear on their station.
Darren spent many years playing basketball in Pretoria, searching out every possible way to gain extra inches on his vertical in order to disprove the theory that white men can't jump. After being distracted by the corporate world for several years, Darren returned to the game he loves to contribute in some way to its' future. Darren firmly believes we will see basketball in its rightful place as one of the top sports in South Africa, and that one of the keys to doing so is seeing information about the game made easily accessible to everyone. This is why he is now part of the MyBasketball team.

Sam, as far as I know the clips work fine, so I’m not sure why it would be doing that.
If anyone else is having the same problem please let us know and we will make the mp3 files available for download.

Greetings ballers
Its been a long time and despite rumours flying around,I havent been instructed to stop commenting on this site.I was actually looking at the weekly poll and I happenned to think about seniors.Gauteng,Free State,Kwazulu Natal and Limpopo.Gauteng plays limpopo in semis and free State wins in overtime against KZN.Free State goes into the Final and face their own homeboy Lesego in the final.
Its amazing what dreams can do to ones life!!!Think about that guys?!?!?!That would be the best seniors!!!

cool stuff people… thanks for making it possible for me to listen to the interview.. shows that you actually care and read the comments made on the site.. thanks for the effort guys this site ROX!!!!!!!!! i think we also need to make it possible that more interviews are done with the different radio stations to cover differnt markets. to that i would like to propose that all who reads and visit the site should send an email to their favourite radio station requesting them to invite mybasketball for an interview… i will start today and as i listen mostly to metro fm anf y fm, i will bug them until you are on their shows… keep it up guys you are a few in a million!!!!

Good Interview. Publishing is critical as it makes the masses aware of our game.
Great Job Guys!!!

I agree with you Setlogelo and its high time that people in BSA, GBA, LOP,… see the media as its partner. People need to know what’s going on whether it’s good or bad!
Basketball is bigger than one man or organisation.
