My London Trip from Tshego
Ooohh where can start …the trip was an awesome experience from the day one. Arriving at OR Tambo International Airport at about 16h00 to meet the wonderful people I was traveling with ooohh… down to earth people. Cabby thanks for your help and patience regarding Masesi’s passport at the airport. You‘re great!!!!
Day One
We left for London on flight SA 234, what a long but exciting flight 11 hours 50 minutes. During the flight Sgwili would come check on us to see if we were okay or needed anything. Thanks for that Sgwi. Ooohhh thanks Thato S supplying us Y Magazines to keep us busy during the flight. Meals were dinner and breakfast onboard.
Day Two
Arriving in London Heathrow Airport I realized what a huge airport it was. Instead of taking a taxi to the hotel we decided to take a tube. Believe me that’s one of the thing you have to experience when you’re in London; the adrenalin and the speed of the tube is amazing…That reminds me, I can’t wait for the Gautrain to be completed.
We checked in ko the Corus hotel. No time to rest in London we had to go out and see the city. In the evening we had a welcome dinner.
Day Three
After breakfast we went for a city tour did some shopping and lunch at leisure. We went to Trafalgar square, city centre, “London Big eye” and some of the other exciting sightseeing. What a great time it was.
The game
We arrived early at the match and had time to feed our eyes to pre Match events held outside the O2 arena where the game was about to take place. The match was very hot and definitely met my expectation with the O2 arena packed to capacity. The game was between the two US giants Miami Heats and New Jersey Nets. Ooohhh guess who was also at the match yes…yes… you’re right ke Jay Z himself bathing!!!!. The game was F.A.B kare fabulous as Dywane Wade worked his magic on the court as always. Although my favorite team Miami Heat lost the match the vibe within the arena was electrifying I am telling you.
After Party
Oooohhhh my godness!!!!!! That was the after party of the year. I mean the who’s who in sport and entertainment industry was there you name them. From players, actors and radio personalities they were all there. Speaking of actress my highlight for that night was meeting Gabrielle Union (one of her movies she did was Bad Boys 2). It was one of the best after party I have attended as a V.I.P wow! Yes as a V.I.P!!! LOL
In Da club
Since we were not in the mood to sleep we went to one of the Hip Hop nightclub. It was rocking!!!!! Everyone hit the dance floor like nobody’s business, it was hot.
Day four
We had an interesting lunch meeting with the sponsors. Then it was time to hit the road to the airport for out flight back home. We got into a tube to Heathrow International Airport. Flight SA 237 left London at 20h35 for Johannesburg arriving at Tambo International at 08h45. Then it was time to say good-bye to the lovely people I travelled with.
