RBL: St Albans College vs. Jeppe Boys High School – 14/02/2009

AFTER a run of two games without a win St Alban’s were a side revived after they convincingly beat the visiting Jeppe Boys’ High School at the weekend.

St Alban’s won the match 62-35 to record their second win of the season after suffering two defeats in row to rivals Pretoria Boys’ High School and Dominican Convent. After the bad run of form St Alban’s coach Victor Fouda decided to introduce some new players to beef up his first team.

Joseph Mosata, who finished the game with six points, Nkanyiso Tshwete and Hwan-hee Lee all came from the junior teams were promoted into the senior team and the trio used the opportunity they were afforded well and surely did enough to warrant a permanent stay in the side for future games. St Alban’s got the better of the Johannesburg school for the second time after beating them again at home. It was all St Alban’s in the first quarter as they took charge of the game, the hosts new look side was more offensive and had physical grunt in defence, as they took the game to the visitors. St Alban’s looked worthy of their 7-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the hosts made use of their home court advantage and it was shooting guard Anthony Dinham who led his school in scoring this period. Dinham looked have found his range in shooting and was driving in more to score points to end the second quarter with eight points and the St Alban’s team took 26-14.

Coming into the third quarter with a twelve point lead the hosts upped the ante, with usual starting point guard Rhys Carolissen, who started the game from the bench ending as the top scorer with four points. St Alban’s were in the drivers seat and with victory looking in sight and the visitors looking like they had little or no fight left in them the hosts lead this quarter 40-27.

In the last quarter it was Dinham again who lead the hosts in scoring with six points to end a the game with 16 points, and guard Bame Nkate chipped in with four points in this period for the hosts to walk away with a massive 27 point victory.

    Why team can use free sites to register their team or to create websites.We have websites like my webs,where you can design your website for free,there are lots and lots of free sports website where you can register their teams for free

    Maybe we can ask mybasketball to have section where team can register their team.Teams can put their stats of players etc

    I have created one for my team even though it is not long in existing.nkowankowastars.webs.com
