The Winelands Basketball League 2010

The Winelands basketball league hosted it’s second of four league tournaments on Saturday at Paarlzicht in the Western Cape. The following are the standings for the primary schools after two rounds of round robin play:

Boys Division

1. Solms Delta                        110 points

2. Simondium Primary       97 points

3. P.C. Petereson                  82 points

4. Pniel Primary                    60 points

5. Franschhoek HS               52 points

6. Paarl School of Skills      46 points

7. Groendal Primary            35 points

Girls

1. PC Peterson                                                       141 points

2. Simondium Primary                                       38 points

3. Pniel Primary                                                    16 points

Results from the Kayamandi Classic

Paarl School of skills, lead by tournament Most Valuable Player, Lowen Solomons, beat Paulus Jobert, Ligstraal and Kayamandi to win an exciting tournament held.

At Paarlzicht Primary on Saturday, May 8^th. Kayamandi came 2^nd place and Paulus Jobert finished in the 3^rd spot. The tournament victory raises the Paarl School of Skills record to 7-0  this season as they sit on top of the Winelands Basketball League Silver Division. Lowen’s 3 months of basketball training in the USA in 2009 seemed to have paid off as he stole the show on Saturday averaging 20 points per game for the day.
