GUBL 2011: Institutions prepare to combat idleness
Pretoria, Gauteng- 25/03/2011. Each year Institutions from all over South Africa battle it out to be crowned the USSA national champions of basketball. To prepare the Gauteng teams and better equip them for the competition that lies ahead, the Institutions have decided to come together to form a league that will serve as the qualifiers where 4 Gauteng teams will be sent to WITS, where the annual tournament will be held.
The Gauteng University Basketball League commences on Sunday 27th March and the various league games will be hosted at venues around Gauteng.
Gauteng are the leaders in sports and have won the National basketball Institutional tournament for since it started for both the men and women teams. For that reason, this is just another way to keep the men and women teams a bar above the rest.
