How Wits Alumni won the Title

October 17, 2008 in LOP

Back in March I wrote a blog on lopbasketball.co.za saying that I feel that Wits Alumni has a shot at the title. And guess what? I was right!!! With players like Mfundo “Katlegong Killer” Dube, Onkgopotse “Walk the Talk” Ndlovu, Mboshe “You see it coming but can’t do anything about it” Ronunu, Dinesh “D-Nice” Mitchell, Tsakane “Real Deal” Ngobeni, Thabo “Spiderman” Letsebe, Quintin “The Pretty” Denyssen and Djo “Tsunami” Loo, Wits Alumni was bound to succeed this past season. In the last game of the day, it was another clash between “Wits Alumni” and “Egoli Magic” for the king of the castle Men D1 title. There were trophies for the winners and hampers for the Most Valuable players on offer so the day was going to be interesting. Read the rest of this entry →

No major upsets during the semis but the Men D2 game between Tlou MGI and Ball Addicts was a close affair while the Scorpions ladies have been rewarded for their hard work during the season with a place in the finals against Raptors.
