MVBC Summer 2011 League

To say it’s hot in the Western Cape would be an understatement. With temperatures going up to 40 degrees in some areas, the region has experienced extreme temperatures and forced people to rush to the beaches in droves. While the majority were catching the waves, basketball players were making waves of their own in the Summer League hosted by Montana Vikings Basketball Club by trying to get in shape for the upcoming season.

With the League going into its third week, there is a mixture of fun and intensity with some games being close affairs and others blow outs but with the aim of the league to develop officials and aspiring players… So far the Montana Vikings Men 2 team is setting the pace with an unbeaten run… Read the rest of this entry →

WCBA 2010 winners and Senior Squads

Here is a list of winners for the 2010 season from the various divisions in the WCBA.

Attached is the list of players invited to the WCBA senior trials for the Senior IPT to be held in Cape Town from 13 to 18 December 2010. Please inform the players of your club of their inclusion. WCBA: Curtains on the 2010 season

Men’s Super League: CPUT vs. Vets

It went down to the wire in this one but CPUT did more than enough to be crowned champions for 2010. The first game loss was a wake up call and the players heeded the call. The Vets must be congratulated for their efforts and for keeping the younger generation honest by fighting to the last game and the last whistle. Final score: CPUT 67 – 60 Vets.
