ANTANANARIVO (FIBA Africa Championship for Women) – The draw for the 21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women was held Saturday in Hotel Colbert, Antananarivo, Madagascar with the twelve countries drawn into six nations of two pools.
Host Madagascar lead Group-A alongside 2007 host and runner-up, Senegal, South Africa, Cameroon, Mauritius and Mozambique completing the group.
Heading Group-B is the defending champion, Mali alongside 2007 second runner-up, Angola, Rwanda, Guinea, Tunisia and FIBA Africa Zone-III qualifiers.
Madagascar will open its campaign against Mauritius on October 9 while Mozambique and Cameroon will tango in another group-A pairing just as Senegal takes to the floor against South Africa in the last group-A game of the opening day of the FIBA Africa Championship for Women.

SAMBA final results 2009

The 2009 edition of the Master was another outstanding event hosted by SAMBA at the University of Cape Town and the competition was excellent and done in good spirit once again.
It was good to see some of the familiar faces make their way from different parts of the country to take part in this event and reminisce about basketball, where it was and where it needs to go.

IWBF Africa World Qualifiers Program 2009

The IWBF Africa World Cup Qualifiers for Wheelchair Basketball will be hosted in South Africa with 8 African countries participating in Wheelchair Basketball at Mandeville Indoor Sports Centre, for the qualification to the World Cup in Birmingham July 2010.
Countries Attending – Algeria, Angola, Gabon, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa & Zimbabwe
Tournament dates: 3 – 10 October 2009.
