Pretoria League semi finals results for the girls
U19 Girls section
PHSG vs. DSG on Friday 6 June at 15h00 at DSG
Pictures by kgothatso
With the league winding down, PHSG had players injured or absent (Lara, Deidre, Jamela, Alexia) that would be the envy of other 1st teams… But with a final against their old foes on their mind, they did well to focus on the job at hand and win this game handsomely. But DSG put up an all mighty fight and their performances have steadily improved all year. They played a man on man game against PHSG and they must be commanded for their attitude throughout the game.
My prediction: PHSG – Actual winner: PHSG

PBHS vs. St Albans on Friday 6 June at 15h00 at St Albans
This is going to be a battle of giants, whether it is on a rugby field, cricket pitch or a basketball game, PBHS vs. St Albans is a big as they come when you talk of English boys’ rivalry in Pretoria. Unfortunately this meeting means that we will have 2 finals, one on Friday and another on Saturday. We could be in for an interesting match but with St Albans being at home, on a high and being undefeated in the league this year the pendulum is in their favor. They have played PBHS twice this year already and have managed to come out on top on both occasions. Will this be the 3rd time this year? Only Friday will tell us but it will be dramatic.
My prediction: St Albans College Continue reading »
Pretoria League results week 5
St Albans College vs. Willowridge High School in the Open boys division
This game was crucial to both teams as the winner would top the pool and go into the playoffs unbeaten. Both teams wanted to make a statement of intent on the opposition ahead of the semis and finals this week. Willowridge have had some good results this year and were out to show that all wasn’t just hype by pitting themselves against a College team not short on confidence and with a good track record at home. Willowridge 1st team has recruited 3 players from the Bees basketball club and their contribution cannot be underestimated in the resurgence of the school in the league standings this year.
