We have seen the posters all over campus, we’ve heard about it from friends. Yes, it is on… The first ever PMB basketball league!

Day 1 – Sunday 29 June 2008
After months of anticipation, our trip to Cape Town for the most prestigious student basketball tournament has arrived. Although the trip down was unnecessarily lengthy – we left at 1:00 AM and we arrived at about 19:00 PM – the spirits remained high as we arrived to a warm welcome form the hosts. After getting our game schedule, however, we were shocked to see that our first game is against UJ at 11 oclock tomorrow morning. But anyways, as they say “we gotta do what we gotta do”.
What time is it? Game time baby!! Continue reading »
The days have gone passed so quickly and the USSA/SASSU tournament is about to end. Teams from different provinces made it through to the semi-finals. The University of Rhodes also made it through to the semi-finals…SUPRISE, SUPRISE. To their disadvantage, they met up with “the hungry UJ” and came of short. Another shocking suprise was the second ladies semi-final, were VUT lost to UJ… Something that most people were not really expecting, considering that Vaal came through with their new recruits from Zimbabwe who played a big role in the team but that was not enough to stop the UJ guards, who killed VUT by shooting from the outside, sending Vaal packing; causing the defending champs to be playing Limpopo for third and fourth position.
