Newtown Battlegrounds at Newtown in October 2007

The Newtown Battlegrounds will be taking place in Newtown on the 20th of October,

It’s going to be an action packed event with Tukkies ladies taking on the Joburg all stars, there will be a wheelchair basketball exhibition game, and Tukkies will be playing Tlou MGI.

There will also be plenty of entertainmnet from the Pretoria dance champs repetoir, MC battles, Freestyles and a special performance by Proverb.

Basketball, dance, 2-pal, and hip hop lovers need to come through to Newtown this Saturday for the Newtown Battlegrounds from 11am until 5pm.

Proverb will be blessing us with a performance, there will be freestyle battles, dancing from the best dancers in Pretoria and Jozi, LOP semi-final basketball, 2-pal streetfootball and loads of DSTV Decoder giveaways.

This is one event you definitely don’t want to miss.

Darren spent many years playing basketball in Pretoria, searching out every possible way to gain extra inches on his vertical in order to disprove the theory that white men can't jump. After being distracted by the corporate world for several years, Darren returned to the game he loves to contribute in some way to its' future. Darren firmly believes we will see basketball in its rightful place as one of the top sports in South Africa, and that one of the keys to doing so is seeing information about the game made easily accessible to everyone. This is why he is now part of the MyBasketball team.
