Barca downed Olympiacos 86-68 in the final before a packed house at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in the French capital to win its second Euroleague crown.
Juan Carlos Navarro, the only remaining player from Barcelona’s 2003 Euroleague-winning squad, was named Final Four MVP after leading the charge with 21 points. Pete Mickeal added 14 and Fran Vazquez set a title game record with 4 blocked shots as the Barcelona defense limited the top scoring team in the Euroleague this season to 68 points, matching its season low.

This weekend sees four of Europe’s top basketball teams duking it out to be named Euroleague Champions in the Final Four (not to be confused with the NCAA’s Final Four – the cause of March Madness each year).
Paris is the host for this year’s Final Four competition.
Friday will see the semi-final games taking place: Regal FC Barcelona will face CSKA Moscow in the first semi-final, while Partizan Belgrade will take on Olympiacos Piraeus in the other semi-final.

BERLIN — Panathinaikos withstood a late comeback by CSKA Moscow to win its fifth Euroleague title Sunday with a 73-71 victory against the defending champions.
Dimitris Diamantidis and Sarunas Jasikevicius made three free throws in the final 10.4 seconds for Panathinaikos from Greece.
Ramunas Siskauskas missed a jump shot at the buzzer that would have tied it for CSKA.
Panathinaikos led by 23 points with six minutes left in the third quarter before Moscow closed to within one point twice in the final 26 seconds.
