Pretoria league results week 3

St Albans College results

It looks like my prediction of St Albans making the finals in the Open section will come true, the results below show the strength of their 1st team but the question is who are they going to play in that game. Will it be Pretoria Boys High School or the high flying Rosina Sedibane. Their U16 A team is also strong so they might end up in the final for that age group.

St Mary’s DSG results

Looking at the results below, all I can say is that DSG have finally started to deliver on their potential considering they start their basketball program very early so good work from their coaches this year. PHSG will be smarting from this clean sweep and will look to bounce back but this will make for an interesting end of the season.

i wonder what time of day St Albans submitted these results, was it before or after their U/16 A team lost 28-20 to Willowridge? I see their first team is performing round about the same way as Willows has against the same opposition in that category but I guess we’ll just have to wait for the clash of the top2 in that group this coming friday… I do not deny that College will be in the Open finals but as to the question of their opponents I’l only advice people not to hold their breath…U/16’s? ask College if you really want to know…

  2. katlego malatji says:

As for DSG, props to Neo,Eric,B,Mrs De Bruyn, Shane and the rest of the crew. I watched them play and im certain they’ll make two finals this year

  3. Quincy Waweru says:

well, as one of the players from St. Albans College, all i can say is this coming matches will be tough ones but am truly confident that our team is strong enough to take down the opposing teams…..With our coach, Victor Fouda, we haven’t lost any games this term! I really hope that we could get support from the rest of the teams and we hope for the best towards the end of the season.

  4. Nkanyiso Tshwete says:

As the U16A captain of St Albans College, and all i can say is…bucket good,,,and 1….”tshwe”

  5. Khuliso (No.9) Ramashia says:

3…2…1 itz dun! I my opinion, St Albans College u16a is looking solid, and very dangerous! raising our game tremendously by the game, and gathering good rhythm. Our blocks are always crashed well by our forwards, and their internal penetration is to be commended. Players like Shaun no.8 and Lolo No.5, have established a solid post game. at back court, the ball is handled pushed and shot very well by rapidly improving guards, Bame No.7 and Khuliso No.9. as for our high flying shot blocking No. 6 SF Claude, he’s easy to play off, and scores important buckets. St Albans is also blessed by a solid bench, and is able to win with the 2nd 5. yes some elementary mistakes are occasionally made, however, this team is a unique force of basketball to be reckoned with… Finals here we come, we will take the GOLD! 2 3 COLLEGE!

  6. Khaya Thomo says:

When it comes to our U/16 team, i know for a fact that the game they played against Willowridge was a minor set back.. MINOR!!! Not taking anything away from willowridge, well done on the victory, but peole are talking as if the league is over..College is playing boys high in the semi-final, and after they WIN that game, i hope Willowridge makes the final aswell so that round two can take place. Under different conditions and so on..College lives on!! 2 3 COLLEGE!! Spartans..

  7. Bame Nkate says:

Today Friday the 30th College took down the talked about Willowridge in a game college should have won by 20, now willows faces a tough semi which i expect Rosina to win, all the talk about our u16 loss to Willowridge means nothing we will see as the climax of the season comes next weekend 4 teams only one winner all i can say is COLLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Lefika Lekalake says:

Yesterday was yet another example of what’s to come later on in the league. We may have lost to Willowridge but that, as Khaya said, was just a minor set back. We’ve got a strong team this year and I don’t expect anything less than GOLD. U16, Clear eyes, full hearts!
    CANT LOSE!!!!!!

  9. THEO MALATJI says:

As a willowridge player i’ve got only one thing to say- colllege got lucky yesterday an dont forget the 6points you won by were scored when our 3 best players were out, see u in da finals, an dont get your hopes up for the u16’s either. 7TH JUNE

  10. SHMOOTH says:

the 30th of June was the first time in my life I saw Victor Fouda so quite and scared, even after the game he could’nt stop looking at the Willowridge coach in amazement and fear. I’d advice his players to follow his lead and keep quite cause all this mouth-running will probably be back to haunt them. (remember 2007?). Players with ill discipline and overly big heads will cost College in 1st team and as for the U/16’s,we stopped thinking bout ya’ll a long time ago,PBHS is done wit ya’ll already. SPARTANS FIGHT HARD BUT AT THE END OF THE MOVIE WHAT HAPPENS? THEY DIE!!!!!!! moral of the story? fight hard so that when ya’ll get killed you die with honour, GO SPARTANS!!!!

  11. SHMOOTH says:

oh but i gotta give props to my boy Quincy. You used to be big headed dawg but now you’ve matured, stepped up your game and maintained your discipline, props. I aint gon hate,i like, keep it up!

  12. I have to say as a result from yesterdays match… I think Willowridge is the most overrated team in the Pretoria League. I am however looking forward to finals on the 7th of June (St Albans College vs Rossina Sidibande). I think its rahter unfortunate that we wont be getting the opportunity to play willowridge again this year, as Pretoria will never get the chance to see what the real score should have been and that it was not “luck” but sheer skill and persistence that won us that game…
And as for our U/16s, i hope you guys are motivated for what will be the climax of your u/16 career and the turning point of your basketball career. As Lefika said ” clear eyes, full hearts” bring home Gold. 2, 3 COLLEGE!!

  13. Bame Nkate says:

thanx Rhys for your all so true comments we dont even talk about first team ,we are going to be in the final like every year. As for u16’s that loss to willows on a court with the worst rims ive ever played on is getting people excited I like that,PBHS already done with us?Not a wise thing to say it all goes down this Friday

  14. SHMOOTH says:

Rhys did you even score on Friday, and how are your sneakers doing after you were made to slip and slide by the Willows point? Bame what kind of baller blames a rim for his inabilities? If anybody knows how to beat Rosina its Tumi so I think your prediction for the final might be short lived. I encourage these so called Spartans to come out to the courts this coming weekend with their mouths and prepare for a lesson in “SHUTTING UP”

  15. Ofcoz i did, but obviously some1 who doesnt know basketball would not take into consideration assists. And as for your point, ill give him his props, boy can play (one of the few players in your team that can). But shame i think you should ask him if he scored, and free throws dont count. And as for your rims, did you just get netball hoops and paste backboards on, but then again i wouldnt expect your school to be able to afford anything better. And as for “Shuting up”, i dont understand how a man from a losing team can still be running his mouth so much… please the score sheet said enough

No furhter comment untill after the finals…

  16. SHMOOTH says:

There we go now lads, got ya’ll heated to a point where you aint even making sense, now lets see you take this heat to the court. Khaya, Alu, Monty, Quincy enjoy your retirement games. This will be the last year College U/19’s make a final!!!! Enjoy gents, see you on saturday!!!

  17. Deezy-F-Baby says:

Anthony Dinham,Larry Mohale, Rhys Carolissen,Katlego Magakwa, Sandile Magagula, Oamogetswe Mathole, Chan Hee Lee, Bame, Ian Jamu, Lex , ENOUGH SAID, My man st albans college has a legacy that will never die. On friday the 30th of May two teams played there hearts out and one was victorius. This isn’t a movie son, College spartans never die!!!!!!!!

  18. Quincy says:

Help all the haters!!!! I knw for a fact that boys hi is going down on friday….AT Home!!! we dnt lose on home ground so dont think u’ll eva make the finals. ITS Done. Rosina vs St. Albans in the finals. its game time boys…As for willow, we want a round two so be sure u make it thru…we want to make sure that the game was not a fluke….We are college spartans and in real life, we dont die!!!

  19. tyler conway says:

the u14’s are unbeaten this term and its gonna stay that way!!!!!!boys high havent got nothing we beat u once an we gonna do it again!!!haha help

  20. Khaya Thomo says:

Every year the same thing is repeated!!! College won’t make the finals etc.. Honestly i’m tired of hearing these people hate on College!!! from the U/14 age group straight to the U/19’s College will come out on top!! Why is it that Willowridge needed to get players from a club just to be good?? There are no Scholarships at the College!! Pure talent!! As for the Willowridge player that said that, ” Your 6points were scored when our three best players were out..” That means that there is no discipline and talent in that so called “Good” team!! Our credentials speak for themselves. Look them up.. I’m done!! Good luck with your game on friday. And if you lucky, we’ll see you in the final!! COLLEGE!!!

  21. shmooth says:

Guys I must say this pre-finals beef is good for the sport,it shows progress, just remember that at the end of the day this is OUR sport so we need to stay united to keep it alive. Let whatever happens on the court stay there and never forget that b-ball is not only competition but a platform to make good friends. Ya’ll might be thinking “how gay”; but take it from someone who knows.

  22. shmooth says:

As for the U/14 comment I’m sorry to inform ya’ll that Boys High wont be in the semi’s. It will rather be the in form Prestige and the unbeaten Willowridge ( which has no club players). Read Vic’s prediction on the facebook group about this age group

  23. shmooth says:

and remember who the defending champs for that age group are. (ask yourself why)

  24. Monti says:

guys I had 2 dip a comment here…Shmooth whoever u r…Please dont dip my name into ur lil internet Debates here… Imagine ur just minding ur own business and you see ur name being mentioned on a website…and as for vic being quiet in a game…The only reason he was quite was because he knew we had the game…The only thing he was sayin in the timeouts was, “we have this game” ,”these guys are nothing” there was no need for him 2 shout and scream he knew we were gona win…neway jus had 2 add my lil 2 cent comment Im out….

  25. Monti says:

Oh an shmooth….at the end of the day We won… with players from St Alban’s College….No scholarships, nobody from utha clubs coming to play for us, an we were also missing key playaz…..Nuff sed….I dont wana run my mouth off 2 much, we shall c who the overall winners r….Peace….
